- Praise Masvosva

KWEKWE-BASED choral group, Maungira Edenga leaders Everson and Sylvester Mutema have hailed Beitbrige gospel music lovers for their support.

The group, which is led by the twins, invaded the border town over the weekend where they graced the album launch for Paradise Gospel Singers.

In an interview, Everson said the doors were opening wide for the Methodist bred group and they were stretching wings to other towns.

“My brother, we are humbled by the response we got from people in Beitbridge. Such responses give us zeal to continue doing our best and we promise to go back soon.

“We have started a relationship with Beitbridge fans and we promise to always deliver any time when they call on us,” he said.

He added: “As you know everyone was affected by Covid-19 and we were not spared. These kind of shows are bringing confidence to us and we want more of these. It’s unfortunate there is the new variant which is affecting countries in Southern Africa.

“We pray to God so that he can intervene. We want to win lost souls through music.”

In another interview, Sylvester said the Christmas period taught people to reflect on their lives.

“It’s time for us to mend our relationship with God and sharing the little we have with the people in need.

“As we celebrate the birth of Christ, we should be able to imitate his love.

“He died for us on the cross and everyone benefited so we need to do something which help the community. “This month we are going to donate groceries to inmates.

“We are liaising with the brand ambassador Sulumani Chimbetu.

“We are going to remind them about the goodness of Christ. Its also the for us to merry and praying also,” he said.

Sylvester also hailed the organiser Brighton Chibi and emcee Lloyd” Edutainer” Mungoni for introducing them to Beitbrige fans.

“We want to thank Paradise Gospel Singers for inviting us and also the emcee Edutainer for taking us to the people,” he said.

Emcee Edutainer also told this publication that it was rare opportunity to meet the energetic Maungira Edenga.

“We have been blessed and the turnout of artistes was amazing. Musicians from Kwekwe, Shurugwi and local artistes came in their numbers.
