WARRIORS defender, Godknows Murwira, says rubbing shoulders against stars like Liverpool’s Naby Keita has been a dream come true.

He feels his AFCON debut, in the match against Guinea, was one of the most important games of his career.

The Dynamos utility man featured in Zimbabwe’s 2-1 victory over the West Africans on Tuesday.

“I am happy to have played one of my most important games in my career,” he told H-Metro.

“It’s an honour to be playing at such a big stage in my life and I’m grateful to the coaches for giving me a chance and believing in me.

“Guinea are a big team and it was, obviously, one of our big games and the first big game for me since I got here.

“It’s something that makes me very happy.

“And, it was very important for us to win, we worked hard to prepare for this game.”

He said it has always been his dream to one day go toe-to-toe with players like Liverpool star, Keita.

“It’s something that’s amazing, that every player wishes to do in his career.

“And, I thank God for that privilege, these are some of the players I adore and have been following, so it’s like a dream come true for me.

“I thank Him for the opportunity and making my dreams come true.

“AFCON is a big tournament, with players full of talent and experience so, by coming here, it gives you exposure.

“It’s a platform for one to learn more about football,” he said.

Zimbabwe crashed out of the tournament with three points after losing to Senegal and Malawi.

“It’s just unfortunate that we are now coming back home and we are out.

“But, it’s been a journey for us, we’ve learnt a lot and I think that it will help us in the future.

“I’m happy we ended the campaign with a win and we are now coming home with some points,” he said.
