MUTARISI SPICES UP ‘ROBBERY’ VIDEO

- Eltina Chagonda

HARARE businessman and philanthropist, Tinashe Mutarisi, says he loves being caught on camera alongside celebrities.

The Nash TV boss, who starred in Freeman’s latest video to the song Robbery as one of the gangsters, said he has always enjoyed acting from childhood.

Mutarisi also featured in one of Jah Prayzah’s videos, which saw him winning the hearts of filmmakers and fellow celebrities.

“Previously, I have featured on Jah Prayzah’s and Patoranking video to the song Follow Me but I did not participate in a big role like in Freeman’s Robbery video.

“I have a love for film, at school I was in the drama club and with the encouragement that I am getting from fans, I will definitely do a film very soon,” he said.

Besides acting, Mutarisi said he is also a good script-writer and director.

“I have a good writing skill even at my school called Mavhudzi, I was the best composition writer.

“For the scenes of the Robbery script, it was just the imagination in terms of embracing roles associated with criminality,” he said.

He added: “I shared the knowledge of how to do a television fight through Robbery video.

“In this particular video, the choreographer managed to differentiate between the traditional fights of ours, which we did kumusha, and the fight of cinematography.

“I always enjoy working with Freeman, he is such a hard worker and his energy is so infectious.

“On this set, it was all laughs because we both have the talent to turn even the simplest situation into something funny and hilarious and his creativity is at another level.”

Freeman said he was humbled by the fans’ support.

“We shot the video in different places of Harare like Msasa, Chitungwiza and Kingfisher.

“Tinashe Mutarisi and Boss Zino are busy men but they sacrificed

their time to make our video shoot a success.

“We rehearsed first before the final shoot and our choreography was directed by Charles Mugaviri Junior and his colleague, who once featured on the ‘Go Chanaiwa Go’ film.

“The video was shot last year but I decided to release it this year because most of my colleagues were releasing their projects hence I was giving them chances to obtain their viewership.

“My video seems like a movie because I like acting and I would like to feature in a film,” he said.
