DEMBARE, BOSSO FLEX MUSCLES IN TRANSFER RUSH

- Sports Reporter

IN what appears to be a busy January window, giants Dynamos and Highlanders are flexing their muscles, as they continue to scramble for top transfer targets.

DeMbare yesterday announced the return of striker Evans Katema, who joined the club on a free transfer. Katema left Zambian side Zanaco, which he joined at the end of 2020.

“Evans Katema is back after leaving Chazunguza for Zambian side Zanaco at the end of the 2020 Premier Soccer League season.

“He had joined us mid-season in 2019, scoring six goals before his move. Welcome back Evans,” said a club statement.

DeMbare have also signed highly-rated fullback Brandon Mpofu and midfielder Ralph Kawondera. They are also reported to be close to agreeing terms with forward Issa Sadiki, who is leaving Yadah.

The Harare giants have, however, lost out on striker Stanley Ngala, who joined their rivals Highlanders.

“We are glad to announce that we have completed the signing of centre forward Stanley Ngala from FC Platinum, on a three-year deal.

“Welcome home BIG Stan,” said Highlanders in a statement.

Bosso are also working on pinning down most of their players, whose contract expired at the end of last year. They have so far agreed terms with defender Mbongeni Ndlovu, who signed for a further two years.

Bosso are also reported to have agreed terms with youthful goalkeeper Raphael Pitisi.

BULAWAYO CHIEFS

The ambitious side have reunited with forward Perfect Chikwende, beating Dynamos, who were also eyeing the 29-year-old.

Chiefs have also announced the signing of Ghanaian striker, Dela Akorli.

The 19-year-old joins Lexington Mujokoro, Marlven Hativagoni, Thomas Mudzengerere and Miguel Fieldman for the Under-20 slots.

They have also signed seasoned striker Obadiah Tarumbwa and Obriel Chirinda.

HARARE CITY

H-Metro gathered that the Sunshine Boys have signed Tyler Mugoniwa and Tinashe Mureya from Triangle, to reunite with coach Taurai Mangwiro.

Reports are that negotiations are underway between the club and Donald Mudadi, Timothy January and Russel Madamombe, who are also coming from Triangle.

Mudadi is also being monitored by Manica Diamonds. Mangwiro has rejoined City after he parted ways with the Lowveld side.

Speedy winger Tatenda Tumba is also believed to be making a return to Harare City after an unsuccessful stint at CAPS United.

TRIANGLE UNITED

The Sugar Sugar Boys, who have been hit by player exodus, are said to have agreed terms with Jairos Tapera, to take over as head coach.

He will be assisted by Patrick Mandizha.

The club’s new executive is expected to unveil a new technical team, together with new players, next Friday.

The Lowveld side have also lost captain Collins Duwa to Manica Diamonds and Delic Murimba to Ngezi Platinum Stars.

Eight players have left the club.

YADAH

The Miracle Boys recently held trials as they looked at assembling a youthful side.

They are, however, reported to be set for a reunion with veteran striker Ralph Matema.

Matema is also linked with Harare City.

Yadah have also lost players like Sadiki, Kudakwashe Mangani, who is linked with a move to Ngezi, and Bright Chayambuka.

Some of the clubs who have been busy during this window include Manica Diamonds and Ngezi Platinum Stars.
