Legjenda e Realit të Madridit, Iker Kasijas ka kritikuar shpalljen e Lionel Mesit si lojtari më i mirë i vitit 2023 nga FIFA.
Argjentinasi u votua përpara Erling Halandit dhe Kilië Mbapesë, pavarësisht se sulmuesi i Mançester Sitit fitoi tripletën sezonin e shkuar dhe u shpall golashënuesi më i mirë i Premier Ligës, por edhe Ligës së Kampionëve. Edhe pse fituesi i "Topit të Artë" tre muaj më parë e fitoi për herë të tretë në histori këtë trofe, ai u rendit me pikë të barabarta me Erling Halandin ( 48), ndërsa diferencën e bëri vetëm kriteri se ai kishte më shumë vende të para nga kapitenët e kombëtareve sesa rivali norvegjez. Por ish- portieri i Spanjës, Iker Kasijas, e quajti këtë një padrejtësi dhe shigjetoi organizatorët e çmimit ndërsa shkroi në "Twitter":

This Prequalification Call represents a crucial step in Albania’s ongoing journey towards EU integration. Since the early 2000s, Albania has diligently pursued EU membership and achieved candidate status in 2014 after signing the Stabilisation and Association Agreement ( in 2006. The efforts to align with the EU acquis led to formal accession negotiations beginning in 2022, guided by the revised EU Enlargement Methodology that organizes negotiation chapters thematically.
The SANECA II project, initiated under German Cooperation, runs from February 2023 to January 2026. It aims to enhance capacities within the Internal Market Cluster and Chapter 20, focusing on capacity building, regulatory harmonization, and civil society engagement. Specifically, the project concentrates on showcasing Albania’s dedication to meeting accession requirements and strengthening regional integration within the Berlin Process.
This call aims to harmonize Albanian regulatory framework through approximation of Regulation ( EU) 2019/ 1020 on market surveillance and compliance of products ( ref. Chapter 1 of EU acquis) into Albania’s regulatory framework.
The assignment includes:
Thoroughly analyse the Regulation to identify alignment gaps and
Plan strategies for precise integration while respecting EU and local nuances. Draft texts reflecting EU rules and Albanian specifics.
Engage with government entities for unified goals.
Offer legal consulting, analysis, and policy harmonization to enhance
Eligibility for this call is extended to legal and consulting companies established in Albania.
To participate, entities must fulfil the following criteria:
Entities should possess a well- founded and active legal presence within
Interested parties must demonstrate an average annual turnover of at least 30,000 EUR over the last three financial years.
Companies must maintain a consistent workforce of an average of at least 4 employees over the preceding three financial years.
Showcase a robust portfolio of a minimum of 3 reference projects exemplifying EU harmonization and/ or regulatory analysis and drafting services. Notably, 2 of these projects should have been executed within Albania.
This call welcomes both individual entities and consortium/ grouping applicants, highlighting the aptitude for fostering constructive collaborations.

Por Haland, i cili ishte i dyti në atë garë, këtë herë ishte konsideruar favorit për shkak të diferencës midis periudhave kualifikuese për çmimet e "Topit të Artë 2023" dhe "FIFA The Best 2023". Ndërsa "Topi i Artë" mori parasysh një periudhë që përfshinte fitoren e Mesit në Kupën e Botës 2022 me Argjentinën, FIFA thotë se çmimi i lojtarit më të mirë të 2023 bazohet në performancat midis 19 dhjetorit 2022 ( një ditë pas finales së Kupës së Botës) dhe 20 gushtit 2023. Roli i Mesit në triumfin e Argjentinës në Katar u llogarit në çmimin e lojtarit më të mirë të FIFA- s në vitin 2022. Asnjë nga kandidatët finalistë, Mesi, Haland dhe Mbape nuk ndodhej në ceremoninë e dhënies së çmimit në Londër mbrëmjen e së hënës, duke shkaktuar edhe një moment të sikletshëm me prezantuesin Tieri Henri, i cili tha me humor se nuk dinte se kujt duhet t'ia dorëzonte trofeun në atë çast.
