Andorra Endavant consults with the Police to stop the manipulations
Andorra Endavant denounced last Monday, through a statement, the current situation in which it finds itself after having been the victim of political persecution and defamation that has «seriously affected its image and reputation on an international scale», especially to the leader of the party, Carine Montaner, who has been «the object of constant attacks through manipulated videos». The party uses as an example the humorous video about Grifols’ opposition published by the Poble Andorrà
media in August 2021, in which Montaner was called the ‘Red Queen’ and ‘Artificial Intelligence’. The video triggered a campaign of incitement to hatred, as well as mockery of her. Now, the defamation strategy «has reached a new level» with the creation of fake profiles on Wikipedia, which spread erroneous information about the Andorra Endavant party and its leader. According to her, the aforementioned profiles, written in Spanish, French and other languages, seek to «undermine the credibility and prestige of the political party, as well as discredit Carine Montaner». In addition, the false information disseminated through these media also seeks to «erode public support for the party and destabilize its position in the political landscape of the country, as well as on an international scale», since Montaner «has made many friends over the years in the international political world, with her active participation in the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie, and at the level of the Occitanic Region (former Midi Pyrénées Region), in which she had worked when she was young in the transport department”. So, and in the face of the intense campaign of defamation that has tried to affect both her personal integrity and her ability to lead the party effectively, Montaner and her party are taking measures to counter the defamation and pursue those responsible, in more than evaluating available legal options.
«We are putting together the dossier thanks to the police advice with digital certificates of the URLs, necessary to verify the facts at a given moment, in order to obtain a court order from the Batllia to find out who is hiding behind this persecution» , indicated Montaner, adding that «we will not allow someone or some to tarnish our political image and stop our commitment to the people of Andorra and our democratic principles. We are determined to defend our integrity and our reputation against those who seek to damage and undermine our image and our work for the well-being of our nation».
