JANUARY INFLATION 1.8%

INDEC statistics bureau announced on Thursday that last month’s nationwide inflation figure came in at 1.8 percent, a day after City Hall had announced 1.6 percent for January in this metropolis (core inflation excluding seasonal and extraordinary increases was actually higher at 1.7 percent, a rare occurrence). Both these figures push inflation for the last 12 months over 25 percent.
