Macri: Away fans will attend Superclásico clashes
For the first time, the Copa Libertadores final is an allArgentine affair. And it’s causing complications. CONMEBOL confirmed Thursday the matches would be played on new dates after they clashed with the government’s plans for the G20 Leaders Summit at the turn of the month. The first match at La Bombonera will now take place on Saturday, November 10, with the second at El Monumental 14 days later, on November 24.
In a bold move, considering the importance of the tie, President Mauricio Macri told Radio La Red Friday that he would “try” and ensure visiting fans were present at both ties. Macri, who said it would be a test of Argentina’s “maturity” said he had told City Mayor Horacio Rodríguez Larreta it was “something exceptional.”
