DEMOTION
Regarding the speech he gave in Congress last Monday, I have demoted the president from Alberto The Small to Tiny Alberto. The contents of his twohour long soliloquy were such that he should have been seated on the lap of ventriloquist Cruella de Vil (remember 101 Dalmatians?)!
Independent from this lucubration, what should really occupy our attention are the threats and accusations that were pronounced throughout the speech, and those that followed it. One in particular sounded outright fascist, and came from Eduardo ‘Wado’ De Pedro, the Interior minister. “The judges transform themselves, or they leave” were his words, and it makes you wonder whether he is threatening a governamental coup d’état. Because what he means is ‘to hell with the independence of the Judiciary’!
At the same time too many politicians from the opposition are talking, talking and talking instead of facing up to the danger with the necessary energy. It reminds one of the Weimar Republic in the twenties of the last century, and God forsake us if the final result is similar. Because, after all, “It’s the Republic, darn it”!
P.S. At the same time it is indispensable that the searchlights don’t roam away from ‘Vacunagate’ and the Formosa tyranny.
