10 V-RAY RENDER SETTINGS

-

Now it’s time to create the final render in V-ray, once the render I ready, I will then use it for final image compositing in Photoshop. My V-ray render settings are detailed below.

Common: for making a good quality render, I choose a high resolution.

V-ray’s Global Subdivs Multiplier: this allows you to increase the subdivisions of materials, light and so forth, that exist on the scene – once and for all. For example, we multiply the subdivisions in the light by the number that we have indicated here, and we will be increasing the overall number of subdivisions.

Noise threshold: when we decrease the value of this figure in a picture, less noise occurs and we get a better result. however, it increases the render time.

Choosing Colour Mapping>type>exponential prevents the explosions of light in the scene. however, less contrast occurs in the photo so you have to decide which effect you want to go for.

Irradiance map: firstly, I choose Current Preset>medium Animation, then I choose the Custom setting and set it to a Min rate of - 7 and a Max rate of - 4 up. This way, the render is finished quickly – as if you were painting with a big brush.

Subdivs and Interp samples: it is advisable to increase values for eliminating speckles in the scene. This increases the duration of the render.

Light Cache>subdivs regulates the rays of light entering a camera. It is advisable to use bigger figures. The bigger the figure, the more qualitative a render we get.

System settings: in the Log window, I choose the settings of Never. Now extra windows are not opened during render. When Low Thread Priority becomes active, the computer is not overloaded and it is now easier to do another operation on the computer simultaneously.
