17 simple relationships
Start by setting up some important, common sense relationships. You have already established the length of the fur with the guides. The length should be directly proportional to the thickness of each hair and inversely proportional to the density of the fur distribution. Often these values are driven by texture or weight maps, so it is easy to connect one map to multiple inputs. After those relationships or connections are established dial in the thresholds or biases to the desired values.
