We don’t want our design to look fragile. One way of achieving this is by working with armour plates – just think about knights with heavy shoulder plates. Let’s do the same with this one: we want to be able to take these plates off, so always try to find a believable and consistent attach point for all of them. Try to rotate them a bit. Notice how all these armour plates have different shapes that are overlapping each other and stick out a bit. This way you can create even more volume.
