DYNAMESH AND SCULPTRIS PRO FEATURES
01 TWEAK DYNAMESH SETTINGS
Activate Dynamesh from the Tool>geometry>dynamesh panel. Once activated it stays on until you turn it back off. To call it while it is activated you simple hold Ctrl and tap with your stylus on your tablet. Be aware that there is a slider in the settings that will enable you to make the Dynamesh either more or less detailed. There is no set number because it depends on the polygon count you start with, but you can undo and retry if you find it is too low.
02 EXPERIMENT WITH PARAMETERS
There are lots of parameters to adjust but the main one is the resolution. Once you have understood how that works you can improve the process with options like Polish that will give you more defined edges. It is good to try changing the level over and over and see what results you are getting. During a sculpting session you
may be doing this hundreds of times. Hit Shift+f to see what the polygons look like in Wireframe mode.
03 LOWER POLYCOUNT WITH SHIFT
Sculptris Pro is activated from a button on the top menu, and once activated it stays highlighted in orange until you turn it off. To test it on your model use Shift+f to see the wireframe, then with any sculpting brush activated hold Shift; this allows you to smooth the mesh with the brush. You’ll notice that the area you are smoothing will reduce in polycount as you work.
04 SCULPT WITH BRUSHES
If you use a brush like Dam Standard, you will notice the opposite happens. With the wireframe on, you can see that Zbrush is giving you more geometry where it is needed, dynamically as you sculpt. Try it with a range of sculpting brushes to see the effect.
