AUSSIES BUY BIG

AUSTRALIA may be a small player on the global scale, but more Toyota and Lexus vehicles run out the door here than more populated countries such as Canada. We also beat every European country for Toyota/lexus sales.

Based on 2016 sales, Australia is Toyota Motor Corporation’s (TMC) seventh-largest market and most successful country per head, outside of Japan. Aussies bought 218,738 Toyota and Lexus vehicles last year (of which 70,136 were dual-range 4WDS), pipping Canada by almost 1000 vehicles and outselling the UK by almost 100,000 units.

Australia’s sales figure is also ahead of Brazil and the Philippines and is higher than TMC sales in Italy, Germany and Spain combined.
