TNN Industries continues the fight against chemical fertilisers

-

OR more than 17 years, organic fertiliser company TNN Industries has been going head to head with the chemical fertiliser industry to reduce the amount of chemicals being released into our environment and food chain.

Managing Director, Max Hansford, said the company was constantly searching for ways to improve human, soil and animal health.

“After 17 years of sourcing the world’s best materials, we are proud to be able to present a genuine solution to the deterioration of our nation’s fragile soils through the ignorant use of highly publicised chemical fertilisers which, in most cases, give very short gains at the expense of longterm damage,” he said.

“Superphosphate has for years been applied by farmers without them realising the detrimental effects it is causing to our environment through acidifying our soils, polluting our waterways, rivers, streams, lakes and even the ocean with its soluble pollutants that leech away, dissolve, evaporate and deposit heavy metals on our farms.

“In increasing amounts, these heavy metals stay and build up a toxic residue that is decreasing our worm population and destroying much of our valuable biological content that is trying to find nutrients for our plants to produce at their best.”

Mr Hansford said that while many farmers had made the progressive change to organic and sustainable fertilisers, a great many still did not realise the long-term damage that chemical fertilisers caused in the quest for short-term, higher production.

“Are we really seeing what we are looking at? With increasing weeds, hardening of soils and pasture that cattle and sheep do not want to eat - preferring to put their heads through the fence and eat grass that has not been turned sour and is in most cases more nutritious than the highly fertilised nitrogen-flooded pastures that the farmer believes to be good pasture,” he said.

“Animal health has declined in recent years with poor conception rates and poor weight due to this poor nutrition and often toxic levels of waste material applied by the farmer unknowingly in the quest for better production.

“At TNN we have developed mostly certifiable organic products that are designed to provide what nature in- tended, that which compliments the soil,” Mr Hansford said.

The company’s flagship product is the TNN FCMP (Fused Calcium Magnesium Phosphate - rock sulphate) which has been developed to satisfy an urgent need in Australia for a non-acid Phosphorous fertiliser which will reduce acidity in soils and not leech into the waterways. The fertiliser also will not become fixed or immobile in the soil and will ensure stable yields for an extended period of time.

“Our FCMP product is the only non-water soluble product that is made available to the plant through biological activity and the exudate from the feeder roots of plants.

“FCMP can be applied all year round with increasing benefit as the product is prepared for uptake by the plants through the microbial population that we encourage to flourish,” Mr Hansford said.

“Not one ounce of the product is wasted in the ground and you can apply any time of the year, you don’t have to plan your fertilising program according to the weather or seasons.

“The increase in the value of the crops is enormous - trials have seen 80 per cent more production in crops when using FCMP.

“We rely on evidence-based results and trials from farmers who have no commercial interests in the products except for more profitable farms,” he said. “And over the past 17 years we have had many, many success stories with farmers from all over Australia.

“When you talk to farmers, they talk about profits because farming is a business, and there is also the legacy that you want to leave your children,” Mr Hansford said. “Using TNN products ensures that you make a profit.

“Many TNN products are capital inputs that can last for several years continually improving the soil that will be left for future generations.

“We have a passion for providing the very best nutritional and fertilisation programs to enhance the profits of our farmers in all aspects of agriculture,” he said.

“Our TNN mineral supplement for livestock is the best animal supplement in the world. Whether you are talking sheep, cows, deer - the animals’coats are shiny, they have a twinkle in their eyes, they are calving at the right time of the year and the farmers’ vet bills are dramatically reduced

“Visit our website to read testimonials from a small sample of satisfied customers and farmers who are now enjoying the experience of profitable farming with less stress, contented livestock and healthy crops,” Mr Hansford said.

“One example of the value of our products was a farm at Colington in Queensland. The farmer sprayed our mature pasture energiser product on every second row of pasture - the cows chewed all the grass off but did not touch the untreated rows. People were actually stopping and taking photographs of these well-trained cows taught to eat in rows!”
