Logitech M570 Trackball Mouse

Balls-out mousing prowess or balls-up fossil?

-

Trackballs — yes, they’re still around. Some people are inseparable from them, while others may find the use intriguing, or even like a sideshow, before opting back to a traditional mouse.

However, if you’re in the trackball fan category, the Logitech M570 delivers a very comfortable and easyto-use unit. Featuring a well sculptured ergonomic fit, forward and back buttons protruding up from the sleek forward-falling curve left of the primary click buttons, and a fairly quick usage adaptation curve for those coming from a non-trackball using background, the M570 ticks most boxes of need.

The Logitech M570 ticks the boxes of need, but what about want? Well, the unit has wireless connectivity to allow for a clean, clear desk space and connecting via a nano wireless receiver. Sure, the feature may not be in huge demand given the mouse doesn’t actually move around the desk area on a mouse pad like a traditional mouse, but it brings a certain clean aesthetic to its use and presence.

Tracking should carry on uninterrupted for many months, even years, with Logitech claiming a standard battery life of 18 months. Paired with a 3-year limited hardware warranty, the M570 has the long term in mind — both in terms of functionality and looking after your muscles via ergonomics afforded by trackball designs.

Though the scroll wheel was a little stiff at first, it freed-up with use.

In all, the M570 presented a well performing unit, albeit a little restrictive in its usage case — no casual gaming with this one!
