Use 3D Touch system shortcuts

1 QUICK ACTIONS ON APPS

For many apps, a firm press on their Home screen icon reveals a list of actions you can take. In some cases, it also shows a widget with info or additional actions; if you refer to a widget often, there’s an option on it to add it to iOS’s Today view.

2 SWITCH BETWEEN APPS

Instead of double-clicking the Home button to open the app switcher, press firmly on the left edge of the screen. Alternatively, press firmly while swiping almost all the way to the screen’s right edge to go back to your previous app.

3 CONTROL CENTRE

Apply 3D Touch to an icon in Control Centre’s bottom row for shortcuts: pick from three flashlight brightnesses, start a 1, 5, 20 or 60-minute timer, copy the last result from Calculator, or jump into photo, selfie, video or slo-mo camera mode.
