Final DDR5 specs double speed and performance of DDR4

NEW MEMORY TO BE RELEASED IN 2018.

The JEDEC Solid State Technology Association has announced that the new standard for computer memory, DDR5, will be available in June 2018 and should double the speed and performance capabilities of existing DDR4 RAM. The technology has been under development since late 2015 and, while technically available from mid-2018, may not reach widespread consumer use for a further year or two.
