WD Blue PC SSD (M.2 SATA) 250GB
WD’s new-old foray into the SSD world.
Western Digital acquired SanDisk last year, resulting in WD entering the SSD marketplace. It made a name for itself doing what it did best — making quality hard disk drives (HDDs) that delivered on performance and durability. Making the shift into memory-related products not only bears risk based on the unfamiliarity of the market and products, but also the manufacturing process and associated financial fluctuations. The WD Blue SATA 6Gbps M.2 SSD is precisely what it says it is — nothing more, nothing less. This simplified naming is refreshing and integrates the SanDisk technology into the WD branding and communication. Based on the SanDisk X400, but with some tweaks, the benchmark results demonstrate the expected read and write performance for a TLC NAND based SSD. Main differences with the Green variant is increased durability, controller capable of higher performance and increased drive capacities.
