Not all that glitters is a ransomware fix

Unfortunately, there are and always will be scammers — those who seek to profit by exploiting people’s fears; and here, in the wake of WannaCry, malware is masquerading as antivirus solutions. Many security companies have scrambled to release updates and scammers have taken this opportunity to attempt to sell people their own ‘patches’. Be very wary of third-parties promising to sell you solutions to Windows security vulnerabilities, as Microsoft will only make these downloads available through its official channels.
