Oh, great, we’re putting emoji on buildings now?

WHAT A RELIEF! (SORRY, SORRY...) So this is a thing. The human race has finally reached its apex — there’s nothing better than this. Architect Changiz Tehrani had the idea to try something different in adorning a newly constructed building in the historic Dutch city of Amersfoort. Instead of adding “heads of the king or whatever”, he decided to go for something more universal in appeal — emoji. While, from afar, it’s hard to tell what the circular reliefs actually depict (which is probably a good thing for those who may find this choice in masonry a bit stupid), up close, there’s no mistaking the ‘Smiling Face With Heart-Eyes’, ‘Winking Face’, ‘Flushed Face’ or ‘Face Blowing a Kiss’.
