Fossil is releasing a new range of smartwatches, including two of the touchscreen variety — the Q Explorist and the Q Venture. The Explorist is the bigger of the two, and while we know size doesn’t matter, we’re digging the Q Explorist’s handsome 44mm stainless steel case. It’s also compatible with a range of interchangeable 22mm straps and bracelets. (The Q Venture, meanwhile, only comes in rose gold and gold with embedded gemstones.) This rugged-looking smartwatch features a digital crown on the right-hand side, designed for quick navigation through the user interface, and two programmable buttons on the right-hand side for further fiddling of your choosing. The Q Explorist’s bright, always-on round touchscreen display throws up messages, smartphone notifications, date and time, and activity data (steps taken); choose from different watch faces to influence what data and info is displayed. In terms of internal spec, there’s a Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor and 4GB of memory. Aside from the usual culprits such as an alarm clock, microphone and speaker, the watch also has an LED Flashlight function.
