Logitech Craft Wireless Keyboard
The crown jewel of keyboards comes at a royal cost
Logitech’s latest wireless keyboard is one of the best we’ve ever used, but when you can score premium mechanical workhorses for significantly less, you have to ask is it worth the heavy outlay?
The Craft sports a similar sleek chic minimalism that does so well for Apple, and with construction this sturdy, there’s no doubt (aesthetically or ergonomically) that this is a premium device. Although it’s not adjustable, the ‘board’s slight angle makes for comfortable typing, and the low-profile keys with circular indents are the most pleasant membrane caps we’ve ever danced our fingers across.
Logitech Flow is also included, allowing you to switch to one of three paired Bluetooth devices with a single button press. The battery is rechargeable via USB-C and offers a week of consistent use, thanks in part to the auto-illuminating keys that remain dormant until they detect your fingers. The pièce de résistance, however, is the Crown — a seamless, squat cylinder at the top left of the ‘board. This control is context-sensitive, allowing you to adjust volume, scrub through video, or change brush size depending on the software. Twisting the knob switches between smooth or incremental motion, depending on its application, and you can quickly cycle through its configurations with a gentle tap. The future potential for this feature is strong, especially for creatives.
The Craft is an impressive culmination of Logitech’s many years of keyboard design. However, for those that aren’t going to embrace the Crown, you may be better off going with a (much) cheaper alternative.
