VITAL STATISTICS
Type: Enthusiast-level digital mirrorless camera with Canon EF-M bayonet lens mount. Focusing: Automatic via Dual Pixel CMOS AF with phase-difference detection measurments using 5,481 points. Focus points may be selected manually or automatically. One-shot and continuous (AI Servo) modes with auto/ manual switching. Area modes are Spot AF, 1-Point AF and Zone AF. Eye/face detection and subject tracking. Sensitivity range is EV -5.0 – 18 (ISO 100). AF assist in low light/ contrast situations is provided by the built-in illuminator. Focus bracketing and manual focus assist via a magnified image (up to 10x) or focus peaking display (red, yellow and blue; high or low).
Metering: 384-zone evaluative using imaging sensor, selective area (4.5% of image area), centre-weighted average, spot (2.6%) and E-TTL II auto flash. Metering range is EV -2.0 to 20 (50mm at f/1.4, ISO 100).
Exposure Modes: Continuously-variable program with shift, shutter-priority auto, aperture-priority auto, flexible-priority auto, Creative Auto, metered manual, E-TTL II auto flash. Eleven subject/scene programs – SelfPortrait, Portrait, Smooth Skin, Landscape, Sports, Panning, Close-up, Food, Night Portrait, Handheld Night Scene and HDR Backlight Control. Automatic subject mode selection in Scene Intelligent Auto mode with Creative Assist effects.
Shutter: Electronically-controlled vertical travel focal plane type, 30-1/4000 second plus ‘B’. Flash sync to 1/200 second. Exposure compensation up to +/-3.0 EV in either 1/2 or 1/3 stop increments. Sensor-based shutter has a speed range of 30-1/16,000 second.
Flash: Built-in flash with GN 4.6 power (ISO 100/metres), 15mm (24mm equivalent) angleof-output and E-TTL II exposure control. Flash compensation up to +/-2.0 EV in either 1/2 or 1/3 stop increments. Auto, red-eye reduction, fill-in, first/second curtain sync and wireless TTL commander modes plus manual settings (Maximum, Medium and Minimum). External flash units sync via ISO standard hotshoe.
Viewfinder: No built-in viewfinder, but EVFDC2 clip-on provide with the camera. 1.0cm OLED-type display with 2.36 million dots resolution, 100% scene coverage and 120fps refresh rate.
Additional Features: Magnesium alloy and zinc-coated steel body, auto exposure bracketing (up to +/-3.0 EV over two, three, five or seven frames), depth-of-field preview, AE lock, programmable self-timer (two and ten second delays, one to nine frames), audible signals, wireless (IR) remote control, wired remote control, 29 custom functions, auto power-off.

Sensor: 34.4 million pixels CMOS with 22.3x14.8 mm area and 3:2 aspect ratio. Sensitivity equivalent to ISO 100-25,600 (expandable to ISO 51,200). Optical low-pass filter retained.
Focal Length Increase: 1.6x. Formats/Resolution: Two JPEG compression settings plus RAW lossless compression and cRAW lossy compression. Four resolution settings at 3:2 aspect ratio; 6960x4640, 4800x3200, 3472x2320 and 2400x1600 pixels. Four resolution settings at 4:3 aspect ratio; 6160x4650, 4256x3200, 3072x2320 and 2112x1600 pixels. Four resolution settings at 16:9 aspect ratio; 6960x3904, 4800x2688, 3472x1952 and 2400x1344 pixels. Four resolution settings at 1:1 aspect ratio; 4646x4646, 3200x3200, 2320x2320 and 1600x1600 pixels. RAW images captured at 6940x4640 pixels. 42-bit RGB colour. RAW+JPEG capture is possible. Video Recording: MP4 format with MPEG 4 AVC/H .264 compression (IPB or IPB Light methods). 4K UHD = 3840x2160 pixels at 25fps and 16:9 aspect ratio (up to 120 Mbps). Full HD = 1920x1080 pixels at 100, 50 or 25fps and 16:9 aspect ratio (up to 120 Mbps). HD = 1280x720 pixels at 50fps and 16:9 aspect ratio (up to 26 Mbps). NTSC standard recording speeds available. Stereo sound recording with auto/manual level control, wind filter and attenuator. Stereo audio input provided.
