Ornate Or numbfish

Although this species is small, its unusual patterning is stunning and distinctive. The pale brown upper surface is covered in dark brown spots that vary in shape, with most being either circular or oval. Like other numbfish, it has a shark-like tail. It is a bottom feeder endemic to Top End waters, including the Gulf of Carpentaria.
