BLOOMING OLD MAN BANKSIAS, BEN BOYD NATIONAL PARK
With rough bark and gnarled limbs, old man banksia ( Banksia serrata) is a distinctive tree on the NSW coast. The species’ grey-yellow blooms can be seen late summer–early autumn on Ben Boyd NP’s Light to Light coast walk. Look for yellow-tailed black-cockatoos feeding on nectar and seeds.
