PRIMALUNA DISTRIBUTION
Magenta Audio is the new Australian distributor for PrimaLuna, having taken over from Melbourne-based Interdyn. Despite the Italian name, PrimaLuna is Netherlands-based and was founded by Dutch-born Herman van den Dungen, a man who’s been described by some industry observers as being ‘ one of high-end audio’s most astute and colourful figures’ and by audio journalist Ken Kessler as ‘ the closest that audio has come to producing its own Keith Richards.’ Van den Dungen was the person behind the AH! Njoe Tjoeb CD player as well as the Kiseki and Milltek and Mystere brands. He owns Durob Audio BV, a highend import company in the Benelux as well as four retail stores in Holland.
All PrimaLuna valve amplifiers have an adaptive autobias circuit because Van Den Dungen didn’t want owners to have to buy matched valves, or spend time (or money) biasing valves for optimum operation. All PrimaLuna amplifiers also have soft-start circuitry that powers-up their valves slowly in order to prolong their life. The company makes a range of valve-based power amplifiers, integrated amplifiers, pre-amplifiers, and CD players. ‘ We are particularly excited about this appointment as PrimaLuna has been a favourite brand of ours for some years,’ said Mike Kirkham, of Magenta Audio. ‘ Not least because we share Herman’s guiding philosophy of providing exceptional, reliable products at great prices and delivering incomparable after-sales service. We’re very proud to be the exclusive Australian distributor for PrimaLuna.’ For further information, please contact Magenta Audio on 1300 785 205 or visit the website at www.magentaaudio.com.au
