SENNHEISER HD630VB WINS AWARD
Sennheiser’s cutting-edge HD 630VB headphones have earned a prestigious ‘iF’ label in the Product Design category at the iF Design Awards. ‘ The audiophile headphones impressed the jury of 58 international design experts with their innovative and premium design,’ said Oliver Berger, Head of Global Design Management at Sennheiser. ‘ Altogether, the judges considered 5,295 entries by 2,458 participants from 53 countries.’
The development of the Sennheiser HD 630VB headphones was a collaboration between Sennheiser’s engineering team and Berlin-based design studio, nr21 DESIGN, which was tasked with delivering a clean and contemporary design. The headphones are one of the latest additions to Sennheiser’s family of high-end audiophile and feature a circumaural closed-back design, to help insulate the listener from external noise. ‘ Its design reflects the headphones’ ability to deliver the experience of high-end sound virtually anywhere, combining take-anywhere durability with desirable good looks, while radiating cool, purpose and performance’, Berger told Australian Hi-Fi Magazine. A feature of the HD 630VBs is a rotary dial on the earpiece that allows users to dial in additional bass to suit their personal preference. Another feature is its collapsible design, which is unusual in a full-sized headphone design, and enables excellent portability, to facilitate which Sennheiser provides a hard carry-case.
