EMOTIVA XPA GEN3 RELEASED

-

Emotiva’s third generation XPA series amplifiers are now available in Australia. ‘ Emotiva’s new Gen3 is a fully modular design so owners can add more channels at a later date,’ said Shane Lewis, of Final Link Audio, which distributes Emotiva in Australia. All the new models have exactly the same power output per channel, with the XPA-2 having two channels, the XPA-3 having three channels and so on. Emotiva specs the per-channel outputs at 300-watts into 8 loads, 550-watts into 4 loads, and 800-watts into 2 loads. When all channels are driven simultaneously, the ‘all-channels driven’ power output into 8 loads is claimed as 300-watts (XPA-2), 275-watts (XPA-3), 260-watts (XPA-4), 250-watts (XPA-5), 225-watts (XPA-6) and 200-watts (XPA-7). ‘ The XPA Gen 3 Series is a whole new ballgame for Emotiva,’ said Lewis. ‘ The amplifiers are fully modular and configurable at the time you order them, anywhere from two to seven channels. All configurations are built on the same chassis, sharing one very robust high-current switch-mode power supply capable of delivering over 3kW continuously with absolute reliability and extremely high efficiency. It means that massive old-school transformers and giant filter capacitors are now obsolete…they just can’t compete. The amplifier circuitry uses the same core circuit topology as Emotiva’s legendary XPR series amplifiers. A unique differential input stage drives a balanced VAS stage. The advanced input stage is tied to a fully complementary Soft-Switch Class-H output stage that delivers an holistic, natural, and powerful listening experience. Low-level musical details and dialogue emerge from a deep black background. Its wide bandwidth, low distortion performance will reveal every nuance of your high-resolution sources.

All Emotiva amplifiers are designed and assembled in the USA. In Australia, the XPA-2 sells for $1,799, the XPA-3 for $2,099, the XPA-5 for $2,699 and the XPA-7 for $3,299 (all RRPs).
