Famous New Zealand amplifier manufacturer Perreaux has appointed a new Australian distributor: BMC Wholesale. Perreaux has an outstanding reputation for building high-end audio products, which it has been doing for more than 40 years. BMC Wholesale is importing the full range of products from Perreaux, which includes amplifiers, DACs, loudspeakers and cables. ‘ We are excited to announce that we have a new distributor in Australia who is totally committed to increasing our presence in the Australian marketplace,’ said Martin van Rooyen, of Perreaux NZ. ‘ Mark Gusew and Allan Neuendorf will be distributing Perreaux from their well-established BMC Wholesale operation in Burwood, Melbourne, with a goal of making Perreaux more accessible and available to the Australian public.’ Mark Gusew, (pictured) says he personally owned Perreaux equipment well before BMC Wholesale became the distributor. ‘ After listening to and reviewing many respected audio products, I decided to put my own money into a Perreaux DP32 DAC/Preamp, for the reason that it just sounded so good and was great value for money,’ he said. ‘ Little did I know that we would shortly afterwards be appointed the Australian distributor for Perreaux. I am delighted to be associated with Perreaux and am confident that we can bring true musical enjoyment to more Australians.’ Perreaux was also familiar to BMC’s Allan Neuendorf, who previously worked as a front-of-house mixing engineer at live concerts and currently manages a professional recording studio. ‘ I have fond memories of using Perreaux amplifiers in many concert sound systems during my time as a FoH mixing engineer,’ he said. ‘ I am excited to be associated with the brand again, albeit in a totally different way. It’s quite a testimony for a company that in a world of mass-produced products, the quality of build and sound of Perreaux today is equally as good as the Perreaux I knew many years ago.’ Gusew and Neuendorf are eagerly awaiting delivery of Perreaux’s newest products, the high-spec DAC module for the Eloquence series 150i and 250i integrated amplifiers and the Audiant DC8X standalone DAC. ‘ The Audiant DC8X will be the finest standalone DAC we have ever developed,’ Martin Van Rooyen told Australian Hi-Fi Magazine. ‘ If you are considering upgrading your existing DAC or purchasing one to enhance your system, then you owe it to yourself to wait until the new Audiant DC8X comes out.’
