WAVETRAIN LAUNCHES ARTNOVION
Wavetrain has been appointed the Australian distributor for the decorative high-end acoustic panels hand-made in Portugal by Artnovion, a company founded by Jorge Castro. Artnovion makes three different types of devices for use in high-end audio applications: Absorbers, Diffusers and Bass Traps. The popular Artnovion ‘Andrea’ absorption panel is designed with contrasting densities of fabric, fibreglass veil and foam plus there’s a rear air-gap to reduce the velocity of sound as it exits the panel. This provides the Andrea with an absorption coefficient of 1.23 and means it’s more than 30 per cent more efficient at absorbing sound than an equivalently-sized block of foam. Artnovion’s Eiger model bass traps are tuneable, so users can easily target eigentone issues that arise in rooms due to their dimensions. Unlike many acoustic solutions, all products manufactured by Artnovion look like works of art. ‘ Artnovion creates the sexiest high performance acoustic panels in the world,’ said Paul McLean, sales manager at Wavetrain Distribution. ‘ They’re drop-dead gorgeous—you cannot look away—and are completely different from what everyone else in the industry is supplying.’ Artnovion’s panels are also very easy to install, which should make them popular with installers. Whereas traditional acoustic panels are attached with chemicals or glue, Artnovion’s panels are mechanically fixed, which is not only simpler and safer, but also enables the panels to be easily removed and reused if required. ‘ Artnovion shares the same engineering ethos as us,’ said David Moseley, managing director of Wavetrain, ‘ and these bespoke panels from Artnovion not only look stunning, but also perform extremely well, such that using them will improve the quality of sound in any room.’
