REVOX ANNIVERSARY BOOK

-

Compiled to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the famous Revox A77 Open Reel recorder comes a book that covers every Revox recorder ever made, from 1949 to 1993.

Revox open reel machines were equally revered by audio engineers, audiophiles, and even Pink Floyd, which included a Revox machine on the cover of its Ummagumma LP. The book (Revox Reel to Reel Tape Recorders 1949–1993) details all the machines built during this period, including full histories, versions, technicalities and curiosities. At 240 pages in length and containing more than 400 previously unpublished hi-res photographs, the book is available from ‘Blurb’ which specialises in on-demand printing. ‘ This is just the right book for those crazy fanatics… those lovers of Revox recorders,’ says Marcel Siegenthaler, who was Advertising and Com- munications Manager for Revox for more than thirty years. ‘ In this book you will find not only the legendary A77, but also detailed and complete information with all versions and types of tape recorders manufactured by Revox,’ said Fadri Haller, current CEO of Revox GmbH. ‘I myself read and browsed in deep this work, and I found a lot of new and unknown exciting information about the devices and the history of Revox.’

The book is the result of extensive research in Switzerland, Italy and Germany of all known Revox versions and variants and interviews with Revox and Studer designers, engineers and managers of that time. It’s available in three versions: a soft-cover pocket edition ($US83.09 plus shipping); the standard hard-cover edition ($US154.16 plus shipping) and a luxury hard-cover version ($US206.42 plus shipping).
