BELGIAN boom

- Joanne Lawless Interior designer, Lawless & Meyerson Everything Michaël Verheyden does respects the material he is using. www.michaelverheyden.com

At the recent Maison et Objet in Paris I was drawn to anything from Belgium. What’s so attractive is the idea of tradition being interpreted in new ways and old manufacturing techniques being reinvented; a nod to the past but looking forward. Nothing is over-designed. Prevalent materials: tinted glass in soft colours, marble, brass/gold and matt/gloss ceramics mixes.
