Bragg & Co came about because I was struggling to source the lamps I wanted here in Australia. Lamps are a great decorating tool because they create layers of interest in a room. They bring an injection of colour or texture and a change of height; they soften a space and set the mood. They also create balance, often adding symmetry on either side of a fireplace or sofa. I prefer lamps to downlights or pendants. At home, I have a pair either side of the fireplace in my sitting room, a single lamp on a sofa table, floor lamps and table lamps in the hall, plus pairs either side of all the beds and three more in the study. We designed all of our lamps with versatility in mind, so they can be used in contemporary

or classic looks. The double gourd, onion and ginger jar are classic shapes, which we have given a modern twist with a simple yet stylish perspex plinth – this draws the eye to the shape rather than a heavy base. The colourways are gorgeous: a choice of modern ‘pop’ hues (Yolk Yellow, Coral (pictured), Lacquer Red, Marshmallow Pink, Turquoise) and ‘classic’ (Tortoiseshell, Navy, Caramel, Moss, Sea Green and White). The lamps are priced from $990; shades from $150.

Our next collection is in development. More shapes and colours are being added to the range… some lovely earthy colours with different finishes. Look out for them in 2018. It’s a difficult decision, but my favourite lamp has to be the double-gourd table lamp in Caramel. It goes with everything. # adelaidebragg.com.au/braggandco
