Overseeing the installation of the latest segment of Penelope’s colossal sculpture, created for the undersection of a roof over the school’s new assembly area. It’s an undulating, wave-like form in mirrored stainless steel, spanning 30m and suspended up to 10m above the ground. Inspired by the school’s marine studies program and its proximity to wetlands, Penelope designed the piece to capture that sense of place, of water. “Look up and it’s like being underwater,” she says.

‘I wanted to create something wondrous and extraordinary for the school. I hope it generates conversations and becomes part of the students’ memories of their time here.’ Penelope
