This is the life
The home’s location – beside a nature reserve in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range – played a key role in the choice of materials. Bushfire-resistance was always top of mind, as was the local wildlife. “We planned to use cedar window frames, but cockatoos are notorious for gnawing on them,” says architect Antony Martin. “In the end, we went for windows that have aluminium outside and Tasmanian oak inside.”
