HOW TO CHOOSE A MATTRESS

Rebecca Meir, national product and marketing manager for bedding at Harvey Norman, shares her top tips for selecting the ideal mattress:

To test for comfort, lie on the mattress in your normal sleeping position for at least 15 minutes. If you have a partner, be sure to test it together.

Ensure shoulders, back, hips and legs are well supported. A quality mattress should last seven to 10 years, so look for a style with a 10-year warranty. A mattress protector or topper is a good investment. It protects the fabric, extends the lifespan of the mattress and adds another layer of comfort.
