16A soothing warm grey paint shade (see notes above) was the starting point for this Launceston bedroom. The owner wanted a calm space to retreat to after demanding days. Lydia restored the walls and trim of the centuryold room, raising the focus with white above the picture rail. Floor-to-ceiling curtains accentuate the volume of space and filter light. Subtle lighting and luxe materials (wool, faux fur, velvet and a chunky knit) provide softness and luxury. “It makes me feel relaxed,” says the owner.
