WIN ONE OF 10 ENTRIES TO THE ICONIC RRR CHALLENGE!

-

The RRR is the longest continually running point-to-point mountain bike event in Australia, and its home is in Tropical North Queensland. This event has brought riders to the northern tip of Australia for decades, long before the rise of marathon races down south. And on June 4 this winter, hundreds will again flock to the tropics to escape the winter chill, and ride a classic route from the tablelands to the ocean. From a rural setting, through the rainforest, and down to the reef.

Starting at Wetherby Station, which was a traditional stop on the route from Port Douglas to the goldfields for people hoping to make a fortune, there are two events that run. The 70km Endurance race takes on a loop around the station, before heading to the historic Bump Track. This trail of history cuts through seemingly impenetrable rainforest, and descends off the tablelands along the steep route pioneered by early settlers. The final few kilometres are along the firm sand of Four Mile Beach, as the race finishes at the surf club. The 35km Classic event heads straight from the station to the Bump Track – but there is a bit of climbing before the long downhill!

In 2017, the event organisers want to give you an incentive to come and take part in either the Classic 35km race or the 70km Endurance event, with five entries to each event to give away.

All you need to do is head to AMBmag.com.au to enter the competition.
