SRAM GX EAGLE GROUPSET

The GX Eagle is SRAM’s third 1x 12-speed offering, but most importantly is also its most affordable (at around half the cost of the X01 for example). A massive 10-50T rear cassette gives a 500 per cent gear range, while the aluminium crankset is compatible with all other levels of the Eagle drivetrain system. Other components, such as the derailleur and chain, are very similar to what is found on the X01, with the trickle-down effect continuing through to the aluminum trigger shifter. All-in-all, this groupset is bound to have XC, trail and enduro riders super excited.

Shimano have gone all-out with the announcement of four new shoes, in combination with four new pedals! The flagship shoe is the AllMountain AM901, designed for downhill and enduro, while the stiffer AM701 removes the lace shield but adds an ankle gaiter to keep out debris. Two new gravity shoes – the top-level GR900 and GR700 – offer a simplified sole to keep weight down.

Shimano’s revised gravity pedals feature one SAINT-level SPD option (M820), flat pedal options at SAINT (M828) and DEORE XT (M8040) levels, and a non-series option (PD-500) - all designed to fit perfectly and offer optimum pedalling connection with Shimano’s gravity and all-mountain shoes. The new footwear should be available from September, with the pedals on sale from November.
