THE 2021 MTB WORLD CUP IS GO!

- uci.org

The shortened World Cup season in 2020 wasn’t short on action, and the 2021 season should deliver all the high-paced action once again. And of course it will go straight to your screens thanks to streaming via RedBull TV. There will be six rounds each for Olympic Cross-Country (XCO) and Downhill (DHI).

It won’t be too surprising that the UCI will stick with known venues for 2021, so they can be certain to operate in a Covid-safe manner for teams, athletes and staff. Mont-Sainte Anne and Vallnord are off the calendar in 2021, but Legoang will host a double-header with XCO and DHI – just like at the 2020 World Championships. April 24-25: (DH) Maribor, Sloveni May 8-9: (XCO) Albstadt, Germany May 15-16: (XCO) Nové Město, Czech

The 2021 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships will be held in Val di Sole, Italy, from 25-29 August. The Cross-Country Marathon (XCM) World Championships are being held on October 2 at Capoliveri on the Island of Elba, Italy. All of these competitions are subject to change due to health requirements by each region and their governments. With Covid-19 vaccines being rolled out through the early months of this year, hopefully the World Cup will have a true representation of the world’s mountain bike talent, with travel opening up a little more. You can stay up to date on international competitions via the UCI website.
