SCOTT GENIUS

-

Genius by name and genius by nature? Maybe, since this new 150mm rear travel bike can switch from 27.5” to 29” wheels with nothing more than a flip of a chip. There’s no awkward changes required, just flip a shock mount chip, change your wheels and away you go.

Scott say the ethos behind the latest version of their all mountain trail bike is ‘What comes down, must go up’. That means it’s designed to tackle steep rooty climbs as much as fast, flowy singletrack and huge mountain descents. The secret behind that is the tried and tested TwinLoc Suspension System which helps manage sag by changing compression damping, as well as the spring curve and rebound damping.

The lightweight frame (a touch over 2.1kg for a medium) can be specced in many different ways, including a special order only 700 Ultimate edition that comes with SRAM XX1 Eagle drivetrain and FOX 34 fork (instead of the FOX 36 on the 700 and 900 Tuned models).

Keep an eye out, as well, for the crazy one-piece Synchros Hixon iC handlebar that weighs just 290g.
