Australian Muscle Car

“I have attached a photo of a Falcon coupe I saw at the Ford dealership in Penrith, NSW sometime between 1974 and ’79,” writes Mike of the stunning machine he spotted at Sinclair Ford. “The badge behind the front wheel may be ‘Concorde’ or ‘Grande’”. Looks very much like the handiwork of former Ford designer Peter Arcadipane to us. The distinctive nosecone design of Arcadipane’s Concorde showstopper panel van of 1977 was reborn on Mad Max’s Interceptor and this is another product of the fibreglass nosecone craze. Meantime, Mike says the caryard full of American muscle was on Parramatta Road and shot around the same time. He snapped the ‘sectioned’ Falcon at Klosters Ford in Newcastle a few years earlier.
