MOMENTU M ON TEST

-

Comfortable, capable and flexible, the Momentums might just be the most stylish headphones to come out of Sennheiser’s labs. That elegant design incorporates two soft-leather ear cups (each housing a 45mm neodymium driver) mounted onto a thin but incredibly strong stainless steel headband. The cups use a closed design, so you can keep your listening habits to yourself when you’re in the office or out commuting.

Sennheiser’s also thrown in a full kit of extras including a hard travel case, two detachable Kevlar-clad audio cables (one with smartphone playback controls and one without) and a home stereo 6.5mmplug adapter are all included.

Of course, all that would be for naught if the Momentum’s didn’t deliver where it counts — in the sound department. Thankfully the audio reproduction here more than lives up to the brand’s heritage, producing a wellbalanced sound that’s clean and energetic, yet deep and rich. They can tackle most types of music with aplomb, but they’re equipped for a little movie and gaming action on the side, too.

With a slick-yet-understated design combined with rich and clear audio, you’ll struggle to find a more versatile set of cans in today’s market.
