Quantum of the Seas’ 12K visuals and giant robot arms put on a titanic tech show

Like massive tellies and ships? Then Quantum of the Seas will float your boat

The most mind-bendingly techy cruise liner the world’s ever seen? That’ll be Royal Caribbean’s new Quantum of the Seas you’re looking at.

Let’s be honest, while cruises can be trips of a lifetime, the view can get a bit samey; perfect, blue seas again, yawn. We prefer our entertainment controlled by six, ceiling-housed robotic limbs each moving a 100-inch LED TV screen in time to music (below).

The Quantum’s 4,180 passengers can also lap up a 270-degree-view performance space with various worldly delights beamed in wraparound 12K on to 20ft floor-to-ceiling windows using an 18-projector mapping system. royalcaribbean.com.au, from november
