ASSASSIN’S CREED UNITY
THE FRENCH REVOLUTION IS AN EVOLUTION
Off with their heads! The second Assassin’s Creed to arrive on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One delivers a rich recreation of French Revolution-era Paris for you to explore. With more interiors – many stunning in their decadence – than any previous instalment, and the introduction of a 1:1 scale that makes cathedrals all the grander, Ubisoft’s Paris leaves you feeling like there are secrets to discover around every corner and behind every window. It’s not a perfect experience. The combat feels clumsy – especially after experiencing the slick badassery of Middle-earth:
Shadow of Mordor, but more on that later – and the animations depicting the acrobatic climbing and leaping can appear jagged and unnecessarily complex. Despite this,
Assassin’s Creed Unity is an exciting indicator of what the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can do for the stab-happy chappies.
