Squeez­ing as many pic­tures out of your cam­era per bat­tery charge as pos­si­ble is al­ways the aim, but com­pro­mises have to be made. The smaller di­men­sions of CSCs com­pared to DSLRs cost­ing sim­i­lar mean that, typ­i­cally, you’ll get 300 to 350 shots per charge for the mod­els fea­tured here, com­pared to 800 or 900 from a DSLR. But in­no­va­tions like Fu­ji­film’s power-sav­ing modes on the X-Pro2 – in­clud­ing High Per­for­mance, Stan­dard and Econ­omy – en­able users to choose be­tween cap­ture speed or max­i­mum amount of shots for the juice avail­able (for ex­am­ple, you can get 220 shots in High Per­for­mance mode, or 330 in Econ­omy).
