BATTERY LIFE… OR STRIFE?
The ways in which camera manufacturers are putting power in your hands…
Squeezing as many pictures out of your camera per battery charge as possible is always the aim, but compromises have to be made. The smaller dimensions of CSCs compared to DSLRs costing similar mean that, typically, you’ll get 300 to 350 shots per charge for the models featured here, compared to 800 or 900 from a DSLR. But innovations like Fujifilm’s power-saving modes on the X-Pro2 – including High Performance, Standard and Economy – enable users to choose between capture speed or maximum amount of shots for the juice available (for example, you can get 220 shots in High Performance mode, or 330 in Economy).
