Range Rover Velar

What’s this? An SUV from the future?
While it may look like a concept car, this is actually the latest premium SUV from Land Rover. The Range Rover Velar is the most advanced car the British marque has designed. It’s packed with technology inside and looks super modern outside. There’s All Wheel Drive, Intelligent Driveline Dynamics and Torque Vectoring by Braking here, making your new ride a thrill.
Erm, how do you get in it?
You’ve noticed the lack of door handles? Yeah, they only deploy when needed – the rest of the time they’re flush with the body. Velar is the most aerodynamic car Land Rover has made, and that improves its efficiency. But we’re not here to talk about efficiency – spec the Velar with the right motor (a 3.0-litre V6 Supercharged petrol engine) and it’ll become a rocket ship, accelerating from 0-100km/h in 5.7 seconds.
And what happens when you finally get inside then?
You’ll be greeted by Land Rover’s new Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, comprising two ten-inch HD touchscreens. You can use these two touchscreens, together with an optional full-colour heads-up display and optional Interactive Driver Display, to simultaneously view and interact with multiple features at once. For example, use the sat-nav on the upper screen while programming a seat massage on the lower screen.
It’ll look at home in London…
You’ll certainly see the Velar more around city centres than crossing deserts, but with a rear locking differential, active air suspension and Terrain Response 2, the Velar will find grip on most surfaces.
