Jura Z8
$4,490, jura.com.au I think I’ve seen that machine before – in front of my local barista... They should be so lucky. The Jura Z8 is the latest machine by the Swiss company, following on from the Z6 and shares a lot of its clean, classic lines that you’d expect to see in a nicely-lit cafe. But there are some clever additions here that will make you want to stay in for a coffee rather than head outside. Do tell, as my local knows exactly how I like my morning shot. It may be time to say bye-bye to your barista. From the 4.3” touchscreen you can choose from 21 different coffee specialities and 16 recipes, including the very Australian flat white, and have it prepared with a sense of showmanship. Amber- and white-coloured lights illuminate the coffee and milk pouring processes respectively, and the temperature of both the milk and the milk foam can be adjusted in 10 incremental steps to have your coffee ‘just so’. I see – and so do my friends and family who are reading this. Good for them in that case, as you can store 21 profiles in the machine, and an infinite amount using the smartphone app, meaning that your carefully-crafted latte macchiato is different to your impressed mate. What if I have especially fussy friends? No stress, as coffees can have 10 different levels of strength, and their favourite item will be with them in one touch. Sounds good. When’s it coming out? The Jura Z8 will be on sale from 1 August.
