Amazon Kindle Oasis

These days, Amazon is synonymous with ereaders, and this is its best Kindle yet. The Oasis isn’t cheap, but it’s really smartly designed. The basic eReader has a great 300ppi six-inch screen that looks just like a printed page, and has a built-in light for night reading. It even has good old-fashioned buttons for turning the page (which we’ve missed since the Kindle line dropped them). It’s lighter than ever, has a nice tapering ergonomic design and comes with the great Charging Cover. These leather covers make it look like an old tome (you can get them in black, walnut or merlot – the latter is our favourite), but also add extra battery power, so it lasts months on a single charge. $449, amazon.com.au
